Our Purpose

The International Society of Mine Safety Professionals was founded to promote the development of health and safety professionals throughout the international mining community. Saving lives and reducing injuries through better leadership, planning, and practice are primary goals of the Society. We are a non-profit organization, recognized as such under IRS code section 501 (c)(3).

As a safety professional you are the front line, the first point of contact in the day-to-day implementation of company practices, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. The sheer magnitude of material to intimately know or at least be conversant with is overwhelming. You are not alone. Every one of our members faces the same daily challenge.
