MSP Program
ISMSP now offers an intermediate professional designation to recognize the mine safety and health professional who has not yet attained the number of years of experience necessary to qualify for CMSP, but who has proven, through education and experience, he or she merits a designation that recognizes the level of professional competence achieved.
The Mine Safety Professional (MSP) designation identifies for distinction the mine safety and health professionals who are willing to go above and beyond to achieve excellence in the profession. Qualifications to apply are: 1. Actively engaged in mine safety for at least three years, or 2. Have a combination of academic accomplishment and working experience in the area of mine health and safety. 4. A member in good standing of The International Society of Mine Safety Professionals. Participation in ISMSP will assist in keeping your continuing education requirements current as well as offering extensive networking opportunities.

The examination fee is $250. A four-day preparation course, offered by ISMSP,
is available for $1000.
